Urban Adventure Cross Body Bag

Introducing The Urban Adventure Cross Body Bag - a new pattern by ImazzPatterns.
The cross body bag is designed for casual day out or short urban adventures, hence the name. It’s perfect for carrying small personal items especially when you need quick access to your belongings. The front pocket is designed for tiny items so you don’t have to rummage the entire bag. The (optional) card slots in the lining keep cards or coupons. Two sizes are included in the pdf: Medium and Small.
The minimalist design is beginner-friendly and a quick sew too. All pieces are rectangular in shape thus minimizing your cutting time.
The Introductory Price for the pdf is USD 2.99 - for 48 hours, 15 & 16 May 2021 (US time). Normal price is USD 6.99. Grab it now!

I tested the medium size and it measures 10" x 9" high  x 2" deep. (The small version measures 9" wide x 8" high x 2" deep).

I used a Dr. Who fabric that shows the Tardis swirling in space. Those Dr. Who fans will know what I am talking about.

The front features a zippered pocket and a patchwork look.

Inside is a slip pocket that I divided to have a pen pocket too. Optionally you can add credit card pockets too.

The bag closes with a recessed zipper closure.

You can see the Tardis swirling in space here on the back of the bag. Has a Vincent Van Gogh look to it, like his Starry Night painting.

I added a rivet and rings, along with an adjustable slider.

Contact me if you are interested in purchasing this finished bag. This bag has SOLD.

Marilyn Big Pouches in Medium & Large

Imazz Patterns recently updated the Marilyn Cosmetic Bag and created what she calls Marilyn Big Pouches. I thought they looked even better than the original Marilyn pouches (and I have made a lot of those in past), so I bought her pdf shortly after she released the pdf.

The Marilyn Big Pouches comes in a medium size and a large and I made both using the last of my Tim Holtz ticket fabric. The medium is on the left and as you can see it is just slightly small than the large size. Both are good sized pouches.
The front of the bag is made with up to 3 different fabrics, so you can use some scraps for the smaller pieces. Or I have seen this made in all one fabric too, but I tend to like more color, so I prefer the 3 fabrics. But it is a design that you can have fun mixing and matching fabrics.

Even though I thought the directions were a bit confusing or lacking in parts here and there, I jotted down my notes on the pdf so that I could make these again as I do love the results.

Can you see the date Aug 17 written sideways on both pouches? That day just happens to be Mr. P's and my anniversary (40 years this August).

The back of the pouches are just plain fabric. Since I do like this fabric that is fine, but when I make more of these, I may just make the front and the back the same or put a slip pocket where the zippered pocket goes on the back side.
Inside there is a divided slip pocket. The directions have you fuse fusible fleece to the lining pieces. No interfacing on the lining, just the fusible fleece. Well that seemed to make it wrinkle a bit and it's rather hard to press out lining wrinkles. So next time it is interfacing on all pieces and then the fleece as that works best with no wrinkles.

This is the large pouch interior.

The Subway Bag

This is the Subway Bag (size small) designed by Imazz Patterns. It features a front zippered pocket and a front slip pocket with a flap; a zippered top closure, a back slip pocket and inside pockets too. There are a total of 3 exterior pockets and 3 interior pockets (if you include the pen pocket I always add); so that is 6 pockets in all for organizing what you carry. Plus it has an adjustable strap for wearing across your body. The pdf pattern includes both the large size as well as the small size in the instructions.

The instructions are clear and well written as are all Imazz Patterns. Just read through everything first to see what you will be doing before starting.

I must be dreaming of Hawaii, since I again chose a Hawaiian print fabric (I made the Good to Go Messenger Bag in a different Hawaiian print fabric recently). This fabric is more colorful though.

I added touches of pink and periwinkle to go with the Hawaiian print colors.

The bag closes with a zipper.

Side view to show the depth of the bag.

The back of the bag has a large slip pocket, which is perfect for holding your phone, or keys for quick access.

Inside the bag I added a zippered pocket and a slip pocket too.
This was a fun bag to make. Aloha!

Simple Clutches

I wanted to try making several of these Simple Clutches (Imazz Pattern) because there are 8 different flaps to choose from. I made 6 of the flap styles here. You can buy the pattern with the 8 flaps for a few dollars or make one of these for free with her free Simple Clutch pattern (only one flap style). These are easy and quick to sew.

Here I used the same fabrics, but notice 2 different flaps. You can add the wrist strap or not.

Again, I used this hot air balloon fabric. I made several bags using this fabric for selling some things during the October annual International Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque. Not everything sold though. I had to cut the balloon fabric so that the balloons didn't appear upside down! So I decided to sew just the flaps in balloon fabric and use an accent fabric for the rest of the exterior and wrist strap.

Opened up you can see the lining fabrics.

Here are the first 2 clutches I already showed and a clutch I made by painting with Shiva Paintstiks and texture plates. The painted one sold quickly.

Here is the back so you can see the painted textured design better.

Marilyn Zippered Pouches in Hot Air Balloon Fabric

I made a couple of Marilyn Zippered Cosmetic Pouches in hot air balloon fabric. The pattern is from Imazz Patterns and you have different looks included in the pattern. You can make it patchwork (I have made several in patchwork and one fabric in the past), you can use all one fabric or add an accent fabric at the bottom. I did all one fabric and one with an accent fabric too here.

The instructions are excellent and these are suitable for a beginner too. Add the wrist strap with hardware or sew it in as I did here, or leave off the strap altogether. Lots of mix and match choices.

Not only for cosmetics though. I use these bags to hold small knitting projects, embroidery projects and whatever else I might need in a bag this size. I have also reduced the sized and made some smaller Marilyn bags too.

Here they are together to see one with an accent bottom and the other in all one fabric. Both look great. If you have lots of odds and ends of fabric you can make these scrappy patchwork (following the scrappy instructions) or I usually make mine scrappy using a variety of widths of fabric and sew the whole thing scrappy, rather than add an accent bottom, but the choice is up to you.

The bottom is a good wide size, something nice in a bag, not so much in a women's behind, lol!!!

This photo looks a bit distorted for some reason. Maybe because I placed it in the tree?

The Geometry Bag

I made the small version of the Geometry Bag by ImazzPatterns. It is a cross body bag with an adjustable buckle, so that you can carry the bag across your body allowing your hands to be free, or shorten the strap and wear it on your shoulder. Both sizes have some interesting pockets on the front of the bag. I found the bag to be easy enough to sew, that is until I got to the gusset. I don't know why but sewing the gusset gave me fits and puckers! I had to rip it out twice. I decided I would sew my gusset differently or else all my work so far might end up trashed and it was looking nice up to this point, so I really wanted to finish this bag. It looks better now, although not perfect. How do you sew your gusset so nicely Rahimah? I think I learned something about myself and bag making and that is I prefer rounded/curved bag bottoms when sewing a gusset or boxed corners when the bag bottom is a rectangle.

Okay the rest of the bag sewed very nicely and I love my fabric choice. I am pretty good at choosing colors if I do say so myself, lol!!! That's my favorite part, choosing the fabrics for quilts and bags. Here is my version The Geometry Bag~
Here is the front of the bag with a zippered pocket and a pocket with a snap flap. I hooked a lip balm holder on because it happened to match.

Side view.

The back view where my keys are hanging out of the pocket to show you that you can use this  pocket for easy access to keys or a cell phone.

Top of bag with a zippered closure. I added zipper tab ends on both sides of the zipper. The instructions show you to sew a zipper tab on the end opposite where the pull is, but I like to grab onto either end, so I made a little change here.

I attached my felt lip balm holder on the side of the bag. It just happened to match this bag.
Inside there is a slip pocket, so there are 4 pockets in all.

Oh yeah and here is all the crap I put inside the bag. I wanted to see what would fit and the only thing that wouldn't fit was my large sunglasses case. It holds quite a bit for a smaller bag.
I am selling this Geometry Bag for $48 + $15 shipping. Email me and I will invoice through PayPal. SOLD!

For sale is the Bag only, contents not included. Does not include the lip balm holder, unless you want it and I will gladly include it for no extra charge, just let me know. Pin It Now!
