Weekend Link Party #8
Welcome to Weekend Link Party #8. Link up anything you would like to share. And help spread the word by adding my button on your blog. Thank you! I encourage those of you who link up here to write a really good descriptive title so that we know what you are linking, since there are no thumbnail photos. If it is a quilt, please use quilt in the title. If it is a bag, use bag in the title and so on. That might help those who are looking to click on the titles that might interest them. Thank you so much!

Strip-Easy Pieced Challenge: Scrappy Table Runner
The Strip-Easy Pieced Challenge is here and today I am linking up to Pieced Brain's linky. There will be lots of others linking up what they created too, so be sure to check out all of the blogs who linked up. Great way to get ideas for what to do with your scraps of fabrics.
Strip-Easy Quilt Challenge at Pieced Brain. I will link mine to her link party as soon as I can, so if you don't see mine linked yet it's because we all live in different time zones and I might still be snoozing here, lol!!!! Check back to the link party often so you can see all who do link up.

I used a couple of strips of fabric that I had created using stamps and stencils. The one with the bird stamp above. |
Simple straight quilting in a variegated thread is what I used. |

Strip Piece Challenge is Coming Soon...
Denise over at Pieced Brain is challenging us to use our strips of scrap pieces of fabrics (try saying that 3 times fast, lol!!!). Her challenge is on May 28th. We link up our posting to her blog on May 28 to share what we made using our fabric strips. There is plenty of time to make something if you want to participate. You can make anything as long as you use your fabric scraps that are cluttering up your scrap bins, boxes, bags, etc. Go here to find out more about her challenge and see what prizes that you can win too! Denise has shared a few things in her various postings of what she has made using up her scraps of fabrics to give you some ideas. I made one thing already and I might try for making one more too.

Crocheted Mandala
I crocheted this mandala using some scraps for yarn I had. I follow Lucy's blog here because she makes the most beautiful crocheted things. So yesterday I sat down and followed Lucy's tutorial on how to make one of her mandalas. It was actually fun and not as scary as I thought. Being mainly a knitter, crochet is something I haven't done as much of in the past. As long as the pattern is well written in words (I find charts harder to follow), then I can do it. I will try making some more of these. Thanks Lucy for your great tutorial!

Fabric Wrapped Bowl
I made this bowl using scraps of narrow purple batik fabrics. I wrapped it around some macrame cording rather than clothesline. Clothesline make a sturdier feeling bowl or basket, but the macrame cording allows for you to shape the bowl similar to fluting a pie crust.

I made the edges similar to fluting a pie crust. This bowl has some flexibility to it and can be shaped how you like it. |

Patchwork Wallets
I made 10 patchwork wallets. I was hoping to sell them at a craft show. I sold zero. I have one of the blue wallets on consignment at a local store to see if it will sell. If it sells in 3 months I will be able to take in another wallet to sell. If they do not sell then I will be giving them away at my local groups. I need to get people to wear their name tags at our large group because new people join the group and we cannot remember their names, so in order to get them to wear their name tags, I will have a name tag drawing by choosing one name from those who are wearing their name tags and giving them a prize. To be eligible to win they must be wearing a name tag.
I will be selling a lot of stuff Saturday at the May neighborhood garage sale. What I don't sell I will take to my fiber art group and give away and the rest will go to the thrift store. Sometimes I wonder why I bother to make things when they end up at the thrift store. LOL!!!! I will keep trying to take in different kinds of things to the consignment shop to see if anything that I make will sell there. Because I have no idea what will sell there or if anything will sell at all? Time will tell.
