Frustration with Flickr!!!!

***Update: After a few emails with Flickr they finally got this problem solved and they deleted the new account I didn't want. I added my photos onto Flickr and it worked. I'm very pleased with the customer service I received from Flickr. Thank you Flickr for solving this issue. Thank you my followers for letting me vent my frustration, lol!!! 
I am so frustrated with using Flickr that I needed to blog about it and see if anyone else is having these same problems. I have a Flickr account and have used my Google email to log in. But the last time I logged in I was told I needed a Yahoo account in order to access my Flickr photos. Okay so I created a Yahoo account. I wanted to upload my new bag onto my Flickr album and then upload those photos to the photo stream for the Bag of the Month Club where all of us who are making bags are sharing our photos. I logged onto Flickr got to my photos and clicked upload and uploaded my 3 photos. Instead of uploading them to my Flickr account that I have had for 2 years, it loads them to a new account. So my old Flickr has 706 photos and my new one has these 3 photos. I try again and the same thing happens. I didn't ask for this new Flickr account, but because I was forced to create a Yahoo account in order to access the Flickr account I already have, I got this account and my old one.

I contacted Flickr explaining this and they only seemed to think I had a problem with logging in. They sent me info to delete the "dangling" account. I followed their instructions and even changed my password to a new password. After all of that my new password would NOT work, but the old one still did. The account I wanted to delete with the 3 photos is still there and my old Flickr account with the 706 photos that I had is gone!!!! I emailed them again and explained this and my frustration. I don't know if they will fix this mess or not. If they cannot retrieve my 706 photos that I had on there I will be deleting my Yahoo accounts and Flickr too!!! I'd rather use Shutterfly or Photobucket because they don't require you to have a certain email account.

I am only so glad that I do not use Flickr for posting my blog photos like some people do or everything I had worked so hard for all these years would have been gone. I am in tears over this frustration with Yahoo and Flickr. Has anyone else had a similar experience with Flickr? I cannot post my photos now on the Flickr groups out there like the Bag of the Month Club because of this. I wonder if those photos that I had posted with that group have vanished now too. The Bag of the Month bags were going to be judged and prizes could be won, but if my photos cannot be posted now, then I not only won't be even able to participate, but others cannot see the bags that I made unless they follow my blog here.

  1. I'm sorry you're having difficulties!! That is so frustrating!! I also had to create a yahoo account, but it hooked up to my same flickr account; for that I was extremely thankful! I was worried that a new flickr account was going to get created, and don't ask me how I did it, but everything worked out like it was supposed, too. I hope things start to work for you soon!

  2. Sorry you are having issues. It is always frustrating when someone misinterprets the issue because they already think they know what it is and don't really listen. My only issue with flickr is everytime I post a photo to the bag of the month club it says "by you" on the bottom of the picture. I have looked through everything but can't figure out how to change that to my name or blog name. Hopefully they will get it straightened out. I looked and your other four bags of the month are on the flickr group.

  3. I sure hope they work this out for you. I haven't had this problem because I have always used YAhoo As my main account. Recently, after that Bloodheart situation certain things where changed and now Yahoo and Google don't play nice together. Let us all know if you get it worked out.

  4. I can understand your frustration. I haven't had any problems with flickr becasue I've always used mine through a yahoo account but I was just as frustrated when I was locked out of my FB account and had to make a new one. Best of luck I hope you get the problem sorted.

Gosh, I don't use flicker but I'm glad you got the issue fixed and glad to hear they gave you great customer service:) I hope you are having a great week so far, I have been extremely busy with work and after school activities with very little time to craft but I love my crazy busy life sometimes LOL!! Glad you got the issue sorted Daryl....I know how frustrated I was when my Linky provider LOST a HUGE amount of Bag Brag Tuesday's entries, which are irretrievable.....and that was frustrating being a paid service as well...guess we are all only humans behind the technology and everything has the potential to FAIL despite all the backups and precautions...and THAT is a terrifying thought!! LOL

  8. yes, I've had similar frustrations with Flickr - in addition, the pics now take so much longer to upload and view that it is not worth the time it takes to use it. I let my pro account expire and no longer go to Flickr on a daily basis. Actually, have not been to Flickr for over a month, I think.
    Glad you resolved your issues - but don't look for me there. Sorry.
