I had an assortment of Christmas fabrics that I didn't know what to make with them. I didn't want to make a quilt and I knew they wouldn't all look that great in one quilt together anyhow, so I decided I would make fabric gift bags and use as much fabric as I could that looked nice together. I ended up making 9 bags and I could have made a lot more using some of the fabrics that I still had left, but I didn't have the right contrasting fabric for the prints that I still have left. The bags are all lined with fabric too.

These are great, Daryl. You have a head start on next year!
ReplyDeleteThe cardinals ones are so pretty, and I just recently used the opposite side of a fabric for a project, isn't it the coolest idea ever, and yeah sometimes it does look better!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I managed to hit a great sale on Christmas fabric at Hobby Lobby. Maybe I'll make some fabric bags for next year's Christmas gifts. Thanks for the idea!
ReplyDeleteVery. Ice Daryl...love the cardinals!!
ReplyDeleteOkay, as if I don't have enough to do already...I am going to make some fun gift bags for the presents I gift this year! I like the idea of a unique wrap job! Your bags are so nice and like Diane said above, christmas fabric should be pretty cheap this time of year, I'm going to make some for next christmas!! Thank you for the inspiration!!

The gift bags are so pretty. My favorite is the cardinals, great job.
ReplyDeleteYou definitely have a head start on this year's Christmas sewing, Daryl. My favourite is the top one with the cardinals.
ReplyDeletethey are all so adorable, as usual its your fabric choices that really grab you. how do you part with them I would have fallen in love with all of them. the snow makes them pop and look even more festive.

What a great idea; the bags are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I've had Christmas bags on my list for a few years. Great job -- they are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful!! I started making gift bags a few years ago and hope eventually to have enough that we don't use any paper wrapping paper except maybe for my husband's grandchildren. Somehow for little ones, opening a gift bag isn't the same and opened a paper wrapped package.
ReplyDeleteIt was quite clever of you, Daryl, to use the wrong side of the fabric! It indeed coordinate well with the cardinals. Although they all are beautiful, my favorites are the ones with the right side of the red fabric. ;-)
ReplyDeletelove the gift bags and the wrong side looks great
ReplyDeleteThose fabrics are all so beautiful I'd have a job trying to find a favourite one.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful bags Daryl and that Cardinal fabric is wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteWow look at you go. Love the bags. Maybe that's what I need to do with some of my Christmas fabric.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for gift bags. I've thought of premaking some the size of grocery bags for gift giving....
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness - what a great lineup Daryl! Beautiful!
