Bernina Overlocker/Serger 1150 MDA FOR SALE

I bought this Bernina serger a couple of years ago and have not used it much at all. I don't sew clothes anymore and I rarely use the serger for anything other than keeping the raw edge of fabric from fraying before I wash fabric or make quilt backings that I piece together. I thought I would use it more for other things, but I haven't, so rather than letting it take up much needed space in my sewing room, I would love to see it go to a good home.

I looked up on Ebay to see what these machines have sold for. You cannot look at what they are asking, but you must go to the sidebar on the left side and click on sold listings, (not completed listings because some may not have sold, just that the time was over for the listing). There were 3 of these Bernina 1150 MDA machines that have sold and the average cost was $532 + shipping. They sold for $510, $513 and $575, so the average is $532.

I am selling this Bernina 1150 MDA for $500 + shipping (USA only). It comes with everything in the photos below, including the cute little zippered pouch I made and appliqued "serger" on one side.

This serger has seen very little use and is in excellent condition! If you are interested in purchasing this serger or have questions about it, please email me. I will email you an invoice through PayPal for payment. Shipping will be figured when I know where you are located and can better quote you a shipping price.  If you are local (in the Albuquerque New Mexico area) then cash payment and no shipping costs.

I am listing the information here on my blog and directing others here from Facebook groups and my local quilt group, so that all the information and photos will be in one place.

This is the whole package: the serger, user manual, foot pedal and zipper pouch holding all the tools you see in the photos below

I am including this zippered pouch I made to hold the extra items in, like the large screw driver, spool caps, etc. All the stuff I have in these photos that are not inside the serger.

All these tools and such you see will be inside the serer zippered pouch.

The Subway Bag

This is the Subway Bag (size small) designed by Imazz Patterns. It features a front zippered pocket and a front slip pocket with a flap; a zippered top closure, a back slip pocket and inside pockets too. There are a total of 3 exterior pockets and 3 interior pockets (if you include the pen pocket I always add); so that is 6 pockets in all for organizing what you carry. Plus it has an adjustable strap for wearing across your body. The pdf pattern includes both the large size as well as the small size in the instructions.

The instructions are clear and well written as are all Imazz Patterns. Just read through everything first to see what you will be doing before starting.

I must be dreaming of Hawaii, since I again chose a Hawaiian print fabric (I made the Good to Go Messenger Bag in a different Hawaiian print fabric recently). This fabric is more colorful though.

I added touches of pink and periwinkle to go with the Hawaiian print colors.

The bag closes with a zipper.

Side view to show the depth of the bag.

The front zipper pocket with my handmade zipper pull. The zippered pocket is on top of the slip pocket under the front flap.

The back of the bag has a large slip pocket, which is perfect for holding your phone, or keys for quick access.

Looking down on the back slip pocket.

Inside the bag I added a zippered pocket and a slip pocket too.
This was a fun bag to make. Aloha!

Good to Go Messenger Bag (small)

Made another small Good to Go Messenger Bag (free pattern from Andrie Designs that comes in small and large). I used the same Hawaiian print fabric as the other small messenger bag I had made, but on this one I chose to add a red fabric for the flap. I like the contrast of the flap on this one.

Inside there is a zippered pocket and a slip pocket.

Side view to show the depth of the bag.

I added a divided pocket on the back of the bag. Perfect for placing your phone in one pocket and your keys in the other pocket.

Back pockets looking down on them.
$40 + shipping. Email me if interested or you have any other questions.

Ethel Tote

This is the Ethel Tote, a free pattern by Swoon. It is easy to make and a roomy bag. It calls for using a foam stabilizer like Soft and Stable, which allows the bag to stand up on it's own. No flopping or drooping!

There is a divided pocket on the front of the bag. Nice place to put your phone in one pocket and your keys in the other pocket for easy access.

The side as you can see has some depth to the bag.

View from the other side.

The bag closes with a magnetic snap. There is a divided pocket on one side of the interior.

I added a zippered pocket on the other side of the interior. So there are 5 pockets total on this bag.
If you are interested in purchasing this Ethel Tote from me, email me. $40 + shipping.

Or you can make your own by going to Swoon and click on free patterns and then on Ethel Tote.

Enlarged Clematis Bag in Blues

I made a large version of the Clematis Bag using blue fabrics and I quilted it in a wavy design. (Blue Calla pattern) I recently came across some leather skirts from a thrift store and bought them to deconstruct so I could use the leather as accents in some bags I make. I decided to make the bottom of this bag in black leather. The strap and tabs are cotton fabric. If I used leather for the straps, I would have needed to piece too many pieces together to make it long enough, so decided to only accent the bottom of the bag in leather.

The leather is soft and easy to sew. I will be adding leather accents to some bags and wallets here and there.

This Clematis Bag is a nice medium sized bag measuring approximately 13" wide x 9" tall x 3" deep at the widest part. Features a zippered closure on top of the bag, a zippered interior pocket as well as an interior slip pocket. The strap is adjustable, allowing you to wear it long across your body or shorten it as a shoulder bag. As always, I add a beaded zipper pull with a charm that I make to the zippered pocket and I added a charm to the main closure zipper pull, since the pull is already long on this zipper.

Inside is a zippered pocket with a beaded zipper pull and a slip pocket.

This Clematis bag is for sale for $35 + shipping. Email me if you are interested in purchasing this bag. This bag sold on 4/22/18

Knitting Tools Bags

I brought my knitting tool bag in the sheep fabric to my knitting group to show to them. I also brought another one in a llama print fabric too that I keep my sewing notions in. I told the ladies at my group I would make anyone who wanted to buy one of these bags in any color(s) and 2 women liked the sheep fabric, so I made 3 of the sheep ones and varied the interior fabrics. I brought the extra bag in case someone else wanted to buy it and I did sell it too. I have a llama print fabric one that is for sale still with pink binding, but anyone wanting one of these bags, I will make custom to make sure I make it in colors they would want.

I love how handy these bags are to use and that the zipper is the handle too.

I made 2 with this red binding. This is one side .

This is the other side.

This is the inside with zippers closed.

I added a charm to the exterior zipper. (I don't know what that black mark is on it, maybe a scrap of fabric? It's not there anymore, so that's weird).

I used a polka dot red fabric to bind this one in.

Inside with the zippers closed.

The zippers opened.

Here is the 2nd one with the same binding as the first bag.
