H2O to Go Water Bottle Bag in Colorful Print

Gosh, I am behind in posting some things! This was a custom order back at the end of June. The person who requested this was giving it as a gift to a quilter that she was visiting. When I asked what colors, she said anything and I figured that this print had lots of colors and a fun print, so I chose it to make the bag. The red lining is waterproof canvas (WPC).

As you can see I used 2 fabrics to make the strap. The polka dot blue is the lining inside the zipper pocket on the front.

With a matching little card wallet that holds cards and cash.

I like to make a small card wallet instead of the credit card pockets inside the zipper pocket. I think it is easier to access. But for a man, I make the card slots. Of course people can chose either one.

Inside the zip pocket are 2 slip pockets (since I didn't add card slots), which can hold a passport, a cell phone or the card wallet.

The main lining area is where the water bottle goes and can hold a small or extra large bottle. It is lined with WPC to keep things dry in case the bottle sweats.

I hope the recipient loved this and used it. They were going to the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show in July, so they would have needed to have water or other drinks with all the walking outside and why not carry your water bottle in style? I wonder if anyone made any comments about this H20 to Go?

H2O to Go Water Bottle Bag in Purple & Turquoise Batik Prints

Hello lovelies, are you surviving the heat wave? I have been staying cool indoors and sewing up a storm! I have so many things to share that I have finished, but haven't posted yet. Been too busy sewing to post I guess.

I was commissioned to make another H20 to Go Water Bottle cross body sling bag. A woman in my Project Linus group saw the one I had worn that day and asked about it. She thought it would be great to take to a quilt show that she will be attending in September. Of course these water bottle bags are great all summer long no matter where you might go.

Her favorite colors are turquoise & purple and batiks (ah, a person after my own heart with those colors and in batik too)! So This is what I made for her and she loved it.

The bag measures 11" high at the sides x 6" oval base x 4" deep. A 32 Yeti will fit inside, so plenty of room!

I didn't have enough of either fabric for the strap, so I used both! I love doing a 2-fabric strap.

handmade charm added to the zipper pull I made with beads.

Inside the front curved zipper pocket is a couple of slip pockets with room for a phone, passport or small wallet (I made a matching card wallet too) and a pen pocket.

This is the matching little card wallet.

Back of bag.

Looking down into the bag where the water bottle goes. This can hold really large bottles. The lining is waterproof canvas.

Front view showing the curved zipper pocket.

Inside the zipper pocket with the little card wallet in one slip pocket.

Card wallet opened. It has 3 slots. The first two can hold a few cards and the last one is deeper and holds folded cash or more cards.

I put my water bottle inside to show you. My bottle is tall and narrow. You can see there is plenty of space to hold a wider bottle.

Some people use a hack when making this bag. There is a hack for boxing the corners instead of adding the oval bottom and they also hack the zipper pocket by sewing a vertical or horizontal flat (not dimensional) front pocket. I think it's because some of them are afraid of sewing the oval bottom and zipper. Maybe they tried it once and didn't have success? Or they also just want a super fast sew?

The reason I bought this pattern is that I loved the look and function of the bag. I love that front zipper pocket and that there is room for phone, passport, small wallet, pen and space between the pockets for keys. The pattern has instructions for card slots or the additional slip pocket, and I prefer making a removeable little card wallet most of the time to place into the extra slip pocket. It's more versatile that way.

I have another H2O to Go bag to share with you next time that I made a couple of slight changes to, so watch for that posting soon. Stay cool my friends!

3 H2O to Go Water Bottle Slings in Hot Air Balloon Fabrics

Hello hot air balloon lovers and water bottle sling users, this was a custom order I finished the beginning of June. My customer ordered 3 of these H20 to Go Water Bottle Slings (she ordered 3 last year too) for this year's Balloon Fiesta coming in October for her guests. Pattern is from Linds Handmade.

I decided to use 3 different hot air balloon fabrics and each has a different color waterproof canvas lining and a different color zipper on the pocket. I used the same blue webbing straps on all 3.

I had a add just a smidge of blue to make the front pocket large enough as this was the last of this fabric.

The waterproof lining keeps any bottle sweating from entering into the front zip pocket and easy to clean too.

Inside the pocket is a couple of pockets to hold a phone, a passport and the little wallet I included in each bag.

And I add a hot air balloon charm to all the zipper pulls too.

3 Water Bottle Slings in Hot Air Balloon Fabric

I got an order to make 3 Water Bottle Slings in Hot Air Balloon fabric print and made these earlier this month. The woman who ordered these said they are all going to the Albuquerque International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in October and her and her daughters would be wearing these water bottle sling there. They might end up putting a bottle of coffee or tea in them instead becuase the mornings of the Fiesta can be quite cold.

The Fiesta starts in only a little more than 3 days! Last year the Fiesta was cancelled and became known as the Fiesta Siesta, lol! There have been lots of balloons flying this month and many have gone over our house. I never tire of seeing them in the sky.

On to the water bottle slings.

All three have the same exterior fabric, but different lining colors and zipper colors. I include a shoulder pad that is removeable too.

Red zipper and red waterproof canvas lining where the bottle fit.

Inside has 2 slip pocket and a pen pocket. You can fit a phone, passport, etc. inside. Plus I make a removeable little wallet that has 3 card pockets, the back pocket is the deepest one to hold folded cash. I prefer the removeable wallet rather than sewing in card slots into the bag. I think it's safer, easier to access and gives you a choice to carry the wallet in the bag or not.

I also add a hot air balloon charm to the beaded zipper pulls that I make. I only use these charms on bags with hot air balloons.

Next up is the lime green zipper with lime green waterproof canvas lining. Tip: I didn't have a lime green zipper, so I grabbed my fabric paint in lime green and I painted a white zipper. It even worked on the nylon zipper teeth.

Yellow zipper and yellow waterproof canvas lining.

I wonder if she will be stopped at the Balloon Fiesta and asked about her bags? I gave her a bunch of cards to hand out if anyone asks. The Fiesta starts this Saturday morning and runs for 9 days, so I'll see.

Wonder Woman & Super Woman H20 to Go Water Bottle Slings

I made a couple more Water Bottle Slings. One in Wonder Woman fabric and the other is all the Super Women: Wonder Woman, Bat Girl & Super Girl. I thought these might be a big hit at the craft show I did last Sunday, but I only had a few lookers. So these along with the water bottle sling in the train signage fabric and the Sugar Skulls fabric are the only 4 water bottle slings that I have for sale. I will only make more as a custom order from now on.

I thought the fabric I used would sell, since a lot of women and girls are into these super hero's. I know they will sell somewhere else. The holidays are coming soon.

This is the Super Women fabric water bottle sling.

I like to add a removeable shoulder pad becuase some water bottles can be heavy to carry, depending on the size bottle you use. These slings can hold a 64 ounce bottle and more, depending on the shape of the bottle.

The front of the bag features a large curved zipper pocket.

Inside the zipper pocket, there are 2 slip pockets, large enough to fit a phone and a passport wallet. Plus I also make a matching Little Wallet to fit into the pocket and there is a pen pocket too.

Here is the matching Little Wallet for the Super Women water bottle sling. IN order for the women to not appear upside down on the front flap, I had to piece

Inside the wallet there are 3 slip pockets to hold cards and the back pocket is deeper for holding cash that is folded in half.

Next, here is the Wonder Woman water bottle sling.

The front zippered pocket.

Inside the zipper pocket the same pockets and little wallet.

The Little wallet on this one I appliquéd a blue star. I didn't want Wonder Woman to end up upside down when the wallet flap folded over.

Inside the wallet I was able to use Wonder Woman fabric for the lining, so you see her at the top.

Here they are both together.

The full view of both, showing the straps and shoulder pads.
Both bags have waterproof lining where the bottle sits.

Contact me ASAP, if you are interested in purchasing one or both of these because they might go to the local shop on consignment soon. The Super Women with the pink background has SOLD! Wonder Woman is still available.
