Triangle & Square Fabric Wallets

Here are a couple of cute wallets. One in a triangle shape and the other is square. Both are from the same pattern by GenyCartes pattern. She does have some cute patterns that I have made a few others before.

While the triangle one is a fun shape, I think the square one is more useful. I used batik fabrics to make both of these wallets. The square shape is also included in the triangle wallet pattern, so you do get 2 wallets in one pattern in case you like me only like the square version.

The triangle wallet has 2 pockets. While this is supposed to hold coins, since it just snaps closed, those coins would fall out if you had this in your bag. It also can hold folded cash, but not much else.

The square wallet also has 2 pockets. You can put credit cards, folded cash in these pockets. Coins too, but they could fall out as it only snaps closed, but the pockets are deeper, so coins would work better in this wallet in my opinion.

When these are closed, the triangle wallet measures 4 1/2" wide across the top widest part and 4 1/2" tall from top to bottom point. The square wallet measures  4 1/2" wide x 4" high.

There is more than one flap shape that you can make the square wallet with too that is included in the pattern. I chose the pointed tip, but there is a curved flap as well.

While these were cute and fun to make, I guess I am too practical and don't see using the triangle wallet at all. I would use the square wallet when I want to only take a few cards and cash with me in a small bag. I might make the square style again, but not the triangle one. I will probably donate the triangle one for a silent auction or a door prize, if we ever can meet in our groups again.

Rover Passport Wallet

This was actually the first Rover Passport Wallet I made. I had forgotten to take a photo of it when I took it to the gift shop last year. Well it didn't sell and everyone had to take all their items back that hadn't sold at the beginning of the year because the building needs extensive renovation. The gift shop still has not reopened and may not until April or May. So I was able to photograph this passport wallet and show it to you. The Rover Passport Wallet is a pattern by Genycartes Sewing Patterns and you can find all her patterns on Craftsy. She has some free patterns as well some you pay for, so see them all here.

I purchased the Rover Passport pattern last year and have made a few of them. They are fast and easy to make and you can use up small bits of fabrics too. I really like this pattern. It's smaller than the other passport wallets I have made, but still has pockets to hold passports, cash, ID and more.

A nice big flap with a magnetic snap folds over to keep items secure.
This is the back of the wallet.

Opened up to see you have a pocket on the left and the right large enough to hold a passport on each side or cash. Another pocket where the red fabric is can hold ID's or cash.

I love the look of the angled and curved pockets. You can use all one fabric or several smaller fabric pieces, making it scrap friendly.

Opened up showing the back of the wallet.

You could add a zippered coin pocket on the back or inside if you wanted to. Or use Velcro to close instead of a zipper. Lots of other ideas for making changes to customize it for yourself, or just make as instructed too as it is a fun sew and makes a great gift.

Rover Small Passport Wallets

I made 3 of these passport wallets, but forgot to photograph the first one I made before taking it to the gift shop. So here are 2 of them. The pattern is called Rover and it's designed by Geny Cartes Sewing Patterns. It is an easy pattern and this passport wallet is smaller than the other ones I have made. It will hold a passport or 2 and ID or credit cards too. Doesn't take much fabric so ideal for using up scraps.

The city scene fabric is about 19 years old now! It was a Millennium fabric that came out just before the year 2000!!! Gosh remember how we counted down the days and minutes to the year 2000 and people were so worried that computers would crash? Can you believe in just over 2 years we will be in the year 2020??? Where did the time go? 2020 always seemed so futuristic!

I repeated some of the exterior fabric on the inside too.

You can put a passport here and on the other pocket across from it. Can be used for cash or tickets too.

The front and back view.
This is another Rover Passport wallet using another Millennium fabric, clocks.

The back side.

Inside I used a blue and a yellow fabric.

Kyra Card Pouch Wallets

I made a few Kyra card wallets, a pattern by GenyCartes Sewing Patterns. These are easy to make and use just a little fabric. There are 3 sizes in the pattern, but I made 2, the large and the small. There is also a tall size as well that I haven't tried yet.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:
Large with 2 card slots – size : 3 ¾" (h) x 5 ½"(w)
Small with 2 card slots – size : 3" (h) x 4" (w)
Tall with only 1 card slot – size : 3 ¾" (h) x 3" (w)

I gave the large one of these to a friend for her birthday and the small one I donated as a prize at a craft show I did in November.

They hold business cards, credit cards or ID cards.

My friend loves tea, so this was a nice fabric for her.

The back sides.

Here is another one in different fabrics.

The back side.

I made this one a bit different by adding another pocket, so now it has 4 card pockets instead of just 2 pockets.

This is a different card wallet that I found somewhere online for free, but I cannot remember where or the name of the tutorial. Sorry.

I used scraps to create the outside.

Inside are 4 pockets for cards. I used a piece of Ultra Suede for the snap tab.
