Sew Powerful Purse #80 for 2021, using Crafter's Edge Circle Die Cuts

This is my project for September using the Crossover II Die Cutting Machine from Crafter's Edge and the Circles Dies and the mini Circles set 2 dies.

I make purses to donate to the Sew Powerful Purse Project, so I love it when I can create a purse and also use the Crafter's Edge die cuts to enhance the flap with appliqué or piecing or both. Cutting perfect circles is made fast and easy with the die cuts. I think the circles are my favorite die cuts too because it cuts a perfectly round circle and not a wobbly looking one like they can sometimes get if I were to cut them out by hand with a scissors.

I used mostly batik scraps for the circles and fused them in place on a dark denim blue fabric and then blanket stitched around most of them, and stitching a few other stitches too for variety. I love how colorful this flap turned out!

I added a few buttons too. I wanted to show the completed flap before sewing it into the purse, since some of the circles will be showing on the back side of the purse.

I love how colorful this looks and I know the girl who chooses this one will like how bright and cheerful it is.

The completed purse. I used a lightweight denim in a lighter blue for the front pocket and back of the purse.

This is the lining side of the flap with another circle and the label I like to add to each purse I make.

The front of the purse is a dark denim with the lighter denim pocket on top.

The back side of the purse shows some circles.

The inside of the bag is a ticking fabric. I also lined the front pocket in this same ticking fabric. The inside slip pocket is dark denim and the ticking fabric too along one side for a pencil/pen pocket.

I add rivets to the side of the bag to secure the webbing strap and for a bit of bling too.

The following Circles Die Cuts Crafter's Edge were used to make this purse flap.

Mini Circle Set 2 was also used.
