Monster Blue Jean Patch

My daughter brought over my grandson's blue jeans that had a hole on the leg and asked me to patch them. I remembered seeing a really cute patch on Pinterest that made a monster out of the hole. So I thought my grandson would love these. When I brought them back to my daughter and showed my grandson, he told me he didn't want that patch, he wanted a plain patch. Apparently, he is concerned about what his friends at school might say and afraid of being teased by them. He's only 7 years old in the first grade! Geesh! I asked him if he wanted a scarier monster? No he wanted a plain patch. So I ripped off the eyes and just patched a blue jean patch over the monster;s mouth. Note to self: Ask first before making anything for him again. I thought these were so darn cute and if I get a hole in my jeans, well I might just make myself a monster patch!

"Help...get me out of here. I'm trapped inside of these blue jeans."

  5. So cute! So sorry he didn't like it. I guess he thinks he's too old for that. ;-)

  7. Cute. Sorry the peer pressure starts so early. Kids don't get to be kids for very long, do they?

  8. I love the Jeans Monster! I would like it on my jeans, but I can see how he might be worried about being teased. It probably isn't "manly" enough for him. Just wait until he's a teenager, grandma.....bwahahaha!

    Keep up the good work.

  9. Your patch is very clever and cute. I used to patch the overalls I used in chemistry classes because I couldn't afford to replace them. My favorite was a shooting star covering a curved hole. But the others were plain. Perhaps he'll like this some day.
