Fabric Wrapped Bowl

I made this bowl using scraps of narrow purple batik fabrics. I wrapped it around some macrame cording rather than clothesline. Clothesline make a sturdier feeling bowl or basket, but the macrame cording allows for you to shape the bowl similar to fluting a pie crust.

Looking inside of the bowl.
I added a flower button.
I made the edges similar to fluting a pie crust. This bowl has some flexibility to it and can be shaped how you like it.

  3. Daryl your Regal Purple bowl is lovely and worthy of a spot on a pedestal. I hope the consignment shop understands fine workmanship and offers it properly. I would see this in a gallery for sale also. Creative Fabric Bliss Dear...

  7. I never realized that macramé had specific cords, if I remember correctly i just used what ever cotton rope/string I could find. I love the look of this bowl, it has great movement and the spiral to the front embellishment is gorgeous. The batik fabric is a great choice. you really took the wrapped bowl to a new level.
great job and of course it looks beautiful, Tara

  9. You make such fun and interesting projects, Daryl. Love all the different purples together. Am I right in thinking you've machined the cords together after wrapping in fabric?

  10. You are thinking about incorporating a site where people can play videos or look at lots of photos, but making that a reality takes knowledge you might not have yet.
