Knit Peter Pan Hat

My grandson went to Disneyland on Spring Break last week. He later told his mom he wanted to be Peter Pan for Halloween this year. I told my daughter that I could knit him a hat because I had a lot of green yarn. I needed a feather to go with the hat, so I fused 2 red fabrics together and cut out a feather shape and did some doodling on the feather. But even fusing the 2 fabrics together, it still wasn't stiff enough to stand up. So I got out the Mod Podge and coated both sides of the feather and that stiffened it up just fine. I tacked the feather down with a button.
Peter Pan hat. I put it on top of my garden gnome, lol!!!

  1. Hi Daryl, I'm happy to be the first person to leave a message ... I loooooove this hat and I can imagine the face of joy of your grandson, when he will see it! Using mod podge is a very good idea to give more stiffness to the hat. You've done a beautiful creation, I really like the doodling you've done to the feather, nice job Daryl !!! Thanks for your message, letting me know that again .....I was a no reply blogger!
    Have a nice day!

  3. Something tells me he might wear it out before Halloween! Little things like this help kids use their imagination during play. Fun.

  5. it is the best Peter Pan Hat I've ever seen. The shape is perfect. I love how you created the feather I would have never thought of stiffening the feather with mod podge. the doodle on the feather is really good and adds another whimsical quality to it. You nailed the shape of the hat, great job knitting. Long live Peter!

  8. Learning to read the formation used by the opposing team is essential when playing is crucial if you play defense. You can anticipate the play by looking at where the receiver is. Watch pro games and keep a playbook of their plays.
