Doll Quilts or Table Toppers

I wanted to use up some fabric scraps and since I recently made some doll clothes for 18" size dolls, I decided that I would make some doll quilts too, which of course could be table toppers or even wall quilts. I only made one in girly colors, which is a pink string quilt, so probably most little girls wouldn't even like the other colors I chose to use? When I was a young girl I loved blue and still do, so perhaps some girls might like these other quilt colors too, that is if they do become doll quilts rather than table toppers or wall quilts.
Scrappy 9-Patch quilt.
On the back of the quilt I sewed my new label. I was lucky enough to win some labels from a giveaway at Sew Fresh Quilts. The labels are from Ikaprint.

My pretty new label on the back.
Lorna from Sew Fresh Quilts had her labels made with her Blog/Business name on the front of her label and her name on the back of the label and I really liked that so I did the same thing with my labels. I chose a different font than Lorna did though.
Scrappy string quilt in scrappy blues. I set this in a zigzag. (Sold.)
Here is the back of the scrappy blue string quilt where you can see the zigzag quilting. The kitten fabric is a flannel.

Scrappy pink string quilt. I set this one in a diamond setting.
Yes another photo of my new label. I just think the label looks so nice I wanted to show it off.
Back of the pink scrappy string quilt is a pink flannel print. You can see the diamond quilting lines.

Twister Around the World Quilt

It's quilted now. I posted photos of this quilt top not too long ago here.  I used a simple straight stitching to quilt it in a variegated thread.

Lil' Twister Trip-Around-the-World Quilt

This is the 3rd Lil' Twister quilt that I have made. I tested out this technique on a small runner size first, then made one in random Civil War Reproduction fabrics for my husband and now I had to try this one starting with a Trip-Around-the-World top first. These are kind of addicting to make. Because it starts off as squares like this:
1st a Trip-Around-the-World quilt top...

...and after you cut and re-sew, it looks like this. It's essentially tessellating pinwhells. I thought it was a great idea to start with a Trip-Around-the-World quilt top first. I saw a quilt like this last week here: Quilting by the River. Connie, from Quilting by the River calls hers Worldy Twist Quilt.

A closer look.

But wait there's more...you have leftovers after you cut the pinwheel shapes and you end up with enough leftover squares to make a small doll size quilt top. So now I have a miniature version of what I started out with, except that I don't have enough of the yellow print fabric to add a border to this as I am using what's left of that fabric to bind the larger quilt. I'll find another fabric if I decide to add a border to this one.
Now I just need to quilt them.

Flannel Baby Quilts

I made this quilt on commission for a co-worker's grandson.

Closer look at the center of the quilt, which is a Trip Around the World  quilt. All flannel fabrics so it's soft and cuddly.

The quilt on the left is the commissioned quilt I made and the one on the right I made for my grandson.

I made 2 Trip-Around-the-World quilts in flannel. The mostly blue quilt I made on commission and the one with some pink in it I made for my grandson. I made the quilt for my grandson before I knew whether my daughter was having a boy or a girl, so I used colors that would work for either sex. The quilt I made on commission was for a boy.
