Pineapple Quilt Blocks

I started making some pineapple blocks using the Pineapple Trim Ruler by Creative Grids. After watching Jenny Doan (of Missouri Star Quilting Co.) demonstrate this ruler in one of her video tutorials, I was sold on this ruler and had to have it. So I grabbed white scraps and batik scraps and played making scrappy blocks. In the photo below I just placed the blocks down to get an idea of what it would look like. I later sewed these together and I just need to add a border and quilt it.

I will be making more blocks as time permits. The pineapple block has always been a favorite of mine.

Here is the video quilt tutorial:

  1. I have this ruler...still wrapped in plastic. It makes 6", 8" and 10" blocks. Thanks for the reminder and the video link. I really like your scrappy version. I wonder if my scraps will look as good. Do you have your scraps organized in any way? Mine are just thrown together in bags and bins.
