Flowers and vase are all flannel fabrics. The background and border and binding are cotton fabrics, but not flannel. |
I hand embroidered all the flowers, leaves and vase. |
I echo quilted around the vase of flowers. |

STUNNING!!! Love all the details on the flowers.
ReplyDeleteWell this quilt caught my eye, and then I saw the embroidery detail, well done!
ReplyDeleteI does look like wool. Beautifully done and it's a pretty still life design.
ReplyDeleteYou are so talented, Daryl. I love the variety of projects that you do. The flowers are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! And if you had not mention the fabric, I would have thought it entirely made of wool. Very clever. Your embroidery is quite lovely. I particularly like the details that you've made inside the petals.

Your choice of flannels over wool is very economically smart and the look is really quite similar. Love your Vase of appliqued flowers.
ReplyDeleteCharming - well done!

ReplyDeleteHello Daryl! Your quilt is beautiful! The embroidery stitches are lovely and add such a lot of texture! Christine x
ReplyDeleteSuch a charming bouquet Daryl! You embroidered details are fabulous and remind me of crazy quilting. Love you idea of using cotton flannel. Excellent work!
ReplyDeleteI'd never thought of using flannel instead of wool. I am allergic to wool so haven't been able to even think about trying some of the pretty projects I've seen. Your vase of flowers is so pretty and the embroidery is beautifully done.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for linking up again to last week's Stitchery Link Party.
