2026 Stay at Home Round Robin (SAHRR)

I am participating again this year making a SAHRR quilt. This is the second year I have participated, but this is the 6th year SAHRR has been happening. For more info or to participate yourself, click on the SAHRR link in the side bar of my blog.

This week Gail and the gang involved in bringing the SAHRR are sharing their center blocks and we have one week to post and share ours on the Linky Party on Gail's blog. Since I knew I needed a center block when it was first announced about this year's SAHRR, I thought about using an orphan or UFO block, but in the end I decided to make a sunflower appliqué block, since I love both sunflowers and appliqué. I will have to wait for the clues each time to decide on what I will do next, since I have no idea what those clues will be and what I will do with the clues to add to this center block.

It does not have to be done in the round either, so I could make one block with the next clue, or a couple of blocks to add to each side of the center (or top/bottom), or? It's all up to me how I want to do it and what size block(s) I will make and where I want to place them. So I could make a Row quilt instead of going around. So I will just wait for the next clue and decide then. It will be as much of a surprise to me as to you. 😄

This block is 9-inch finished or 9 1/2-inch unfinished.

Stay at Home Round Robin (2025) Finished!!!

I got my SAHRR quilted and sewed on the binding so it's done, tada!! I really love how this turned out. I had no idea what I was going to do until I thought about each prompt and then just dove right in and started to sew blocks. I used up a lot of scraps too. This quilt is a mixture of batiks fabrics and commercial cotton fabrics and they all worked well together.

Thanks Gail (of Quilting Gail) for coming up with this SAHRR idea a few years ago and keeping it going until I finally decided to take the plunge and join in (and I am so glad I did😄). I already have some ideas for my center block for next year (if Gail continues doing this SAHRR, that is).

I did a bit of hand embroidery to represent tea pouring out the the teapot.

Stay at Home Round Robin 2025 (SAHRR) Round 3: Stars

This is the 3rd prompt for the SAHRR, which was given by Gail of Quilting Gail and the prompt is Stars. 

🤩🌟⭐✯✵✴✭.

I like all kinds of star quilt blocks, but I chose to make this star and sew them only to the two sides. I really love this star, which has a few names, so not sure what name I should call it?

I am really loving making this so far and it's my first round robin! 3 more prompts to go until the quilt is done...well unitl the top is done as who knows how long it will take me to quilt it?

Stay at Home Round Robin (SAHRR) Round 2

 The second round prompt for the SAHRR is from Anja Quilt's and the prompt is Half Square Triangles.

The half square triangles was a perfect choice as I was hoping to take this quilt from being on point to squaring it up and so I added 4 corner triangles, one in each corner to now have a square top. I chose this pale green solid fabric, but I also knew I wanted to add more appliqué to keep the tea/teacup theme going as well. I used my Crafter's Edge Teapot, teacup and saucer die cuts and fused them onto the corners and then blanket stitched around them.

Here are the half square triangles sewn to each corner.

I added appliqué teapots and teacups and saucers to keep the tea theme going too. I might later quilt some tea going into the cup from the teapot spout.

I used batik fabric for the teapots and teacups and saucers and made 2 like this and two the opposite like in the photo below.

Two were made like this and 2 like the photos above. Blanket stitching was stitched around each appliqué piece.
