Blue Knit Shrug

I knit this shrug more than a year ago. I ran out of the yarn when it was almost finished. I tried it on and it looked awful and I didn't like the fit. So it sat and sat for over a year. I finally decided to frog it (technical knitting term for rip-it, rip-it, lol)! I am now using the yarn to knit a wrap that will pop over my head like a sweater, but will look like a cape or shawl. I think I will like that better (I hope so)! Once I am done knitting and blocking the wrap I will post it.

Doesn't look so bad on my dress form. But I am a lot larger in the bust.

I ripped out everything, except the part across the back, which is like a ribbed scarf (rectangle). If I need that yarn too, I will rip it apart, but for now I will use it as a scarf. The last several yards I had to substitute a different blue yarn, but now it's all ripped out anyhow.

Gray Knit Shrug

I began knitting this shrug because I loved the look of the knit stitch. I thought I had enough yarn, but as I was beginning to run out of yarn, I found another gray yarn that I had and thought I would start knitting it in so it wasn't an abrupt change in yarns. When I tried this shrug on after it was finished, it wasn't large enough in the front to cover my bust area. I loved how it looks from the back though. Oh well it was hard to know from looking at the photo of the pattern how it would look on me. The arms look a bit weird on my dress form, lol!!! I figured that I may as well share some of my not-so-good projects with you too, lol!!! I don't even remember the name of this shrug or where I got the pattern from and can't seem to find the pattern anywhere now that I am posting this. Maybe I threw it out when it didn't work out for me? Who knows?

I started knitting in the lighter gray into the ribbing to transition from the darker gray yarn since I was running out of the darker gray yarn.

Even on my dress form you can see it's not large enough in the bust area.

I do like the knit stitch here on the back.

Fleece Artist Circular Shrug

I knit this shrug using 3 yarns held together. It is a was a free pattern from Wool Trends called  Fleece Artist Circular Shrug.  (*Update 11/30-15: Apparently this pattern is no longer being offered online anymore, free or even for sale. I couldn't find it anywhere. You might want to contact Wool Trends and ask about this pattern if you are interested in it. I am not sure why it is no longer out there anymore).

One of the yarns I used is an off white mohair yarn, one navy blue mohair yarn and one wine colored yarn with pink slubs that I do not know what the yarn was made of. The yarns worked well together and the shrug has a purple hue to it. It is very easy to knit and would look great in almost any yarn.

Knit in rib and garter stitch.

Knit Jacket

This jacket was all knit in ribbing. Starts off being knit like a long scarf that you sew up on both sides to create the sleeves. Then it's picked up and knitted all around in a double ribbing, then a single ribbing. Looks very odd until you put it on and then this amazing jacket with the collar appears like magic!
