Flowers in a Pot Quilt

I made this quilt several months ago. The leaf blocks that surround the quilt were blocks from a group I used to belong to where we exchanged blocks. The appliqued flowers were inspired from a quilt that I saw in a book, but I changed it all and made it different. Pin It Now!

Cone Flowers in a Trug Quilt

Cone Flowers in a Trug Quilt. I hand buttonhole/blanket stitched the appliques, and machine quilted this 12" x 12" quilt. I used handyed , hand painted and batik fabrics and added embellishments. This is an original designed quilt.

Mini Applique Flower Quilt

My friend and I are going to teach a workshop for children in making mini art quilts using applique shapes that are fused only. No sewing involved. I made this as an example for the class. Embellished with 3 buttons and seed beads on the buttons, which were glued in place.

Flower Wall Hanging

I started this in my applique group. It was supposed to be a table runner with the flowers equally spaced on the white background and the leaves around the flowers. But I didn't like how it was looking and since I have a round table anyhow, I decided to arrange the flowers differently and to add a stem and place the leaves along the stem. Then I found the perfect fabric (from my stash) for the border. I added some prairie points on 2 sides of the border for an embellishment. Big buttons with smaller buttons on top of them made the perfect flower centers. It's now hanging on the wall.

Small Daisy Quilt

This is going to be given away for auctioning off at the quilt retreat that I am attending in September. The beads along the left side are beads that I made out of fabric scraps.

Happy Flowers Quilt

I entered this in a baby quilt contest. I didn't win, however on the stationery thanking me for entering the quilt was a handwritten note saying that I had excellent color choices. So that was nice. I named this quilt Happy Flowers. I hand buttonhole stitched around each flower and hand quilted it.
