2 Clear View Project Bags

These 2 bags were a custom order. Karen sent me the fabrics she wanted to use for the bags. I chose the placements of the fabrics. They have clear front windows to see what's inside the bags. I also added a clear window on the front stripe fabric to hold a label of what's inside or her name.  The bags have boxed corners that fold flat when not in use. They hold a lot of stuff too. She was pleased with the bags, which is always so nice to hear.

Both bags. They each have the striped exterior fabric, but the lining fabrics are different. One is colorful wavy stripes on black background and the other has colorful cats on a black background. Karen loves cats. There are carry handles that flopped behind in this photo, but you can see them in the other photos below.

I added a clear window on the striped fabric she could add a label of what is inside the bag.
Even though you can see into the clear large window, it isn't always apparent as to what project might be inside or what other items you put into the bag.

I added a clear window on the striped fabric of this bag too.

Sew Powerful Purse #238 (2025)

  • Esther Mkandawire (from Zambia) visited Sew Powerful earlier this month and went to a few places with Jason & Cinnamon of Sew Powerful to talk about Zambia and the purse program and more. I watched a video thanking the purse makers who sent in purses this month and Esther was there in the video and she helped out. Esther is the Zambia Program Director, she founded the Needs Care School and 3 Esthers Farm to provide fresh food to the children in Zambia.
  • Jason asked her what her favorite animal was and her favorite color and she answered that sheep are her favorite animals and purple is her favorite color. So I decided to make a purse in Esther's honor and this is the purse I made. I don't think it will go to Esther herself, but one girl will receive it and maybe Esther will see it? I will write on the notecard the reason I made this purse.
  • I used an Amy Bradley appliqué pattern and reduced it to fit on the purse.

Sew Powerful Purses #233-237 (2025)

The last 5 purses I have sewn for now. More Debbie Mumm prints, selvages and scraps.

I am busy now cutting out purse kits for September's Sew-a-thon and fundraising through September 30th as well. It takes $10 to fill each purse with the needed hygiene items that go into the purses. See the links below.

My personal goal is to sew 80 purses in September and raise $800 in which to fill each purse. Please help me to reach the dollar goal. Thank you so much on behalf of the girls! If they receive a purse filled with the monthly hygiene items, then they can stay in school every month and not miss days.
