A baby girl was born to our nephew this month. They named her Scarlet. I made a baby quilt not knowing if the baby would be a boy or a girl (they didn't want to know in advance), so since they live in California, I decided to make a quilt in the colors of the ocean, and I named the quilt,
Colors of the Seashore. I used aqua, blues, greens and sand colors. I backed it in a flannel of aqua with white peace signs. Truly a California quilt. I am still a California hippie girl myself, lol!
Welcome Scarlet. I hope to someday meet you. I hope you will enjoy being cuddled in your quilt.

Pin It Now!
I’ll bet I even saw you back in the day. You Hippies sure were a crazy looking bunch to a young teenager in her early teens! But I loved the flower power craze. I had large colorful flowers on everything. Yes, and the peace sign too. Love the colors of your quilt. A sand and surf color scheme was a good decision.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Perfect California quilt indeed. I also love that they wanted to be surprised by the gender. It is rare these days.
