Wiggle Lace Knit Triangle Scarf

I knit this last year in November or December. I had one skein of yarn and this scarf took one skein of yarn to make. I am trying to use up those miscellaneous skeins of yarn by knitting them into something useful. This skein is a variegated yarn going from light gray to pink. The pattern is called Wiggle Lace Scarf, by Kris Basta. It's a free pattern on Ravelry.

I really need to find a better way to photograph a scarf. I might need to make or buy a bust of some kind that has a head with a torso on top so that I could photograph not only scarves, but hats and necklaces too. I wonder if I can find a mannequin from a store that is going out of business or changing their mannequins? Hmm....Meanwhile here is the scarf the best I could photograph it:
Variegated yarns from light gray to pink.

  1. This scarf is lacy and divine. I agree it would be nice to have a "mannequin" however it is much more interesting to see how you display and photograph your pieces of HeArt. The branch photo is my favorite. 2016 will be an amazing year dear...

  2. The scarf is very pretty! You just need a willing family member or friend to model for your photographs. I think a live model would be the best photograph choice...if that is a possible option. The tree branch shots give the best display as far as size goes.

  3. I went through my yarn stash last night and put myself on a buying cease-and-desist until I make things with what I've got. It's funny how you don't realize how it grows like that...kind of like fabric.

  4. That's a beautiful scarf. I think you did a darn good job with the photos, never thought about how tricky it could be. I need some projects to use up my yarn, I just buy what I like and never seem to have enough of anything to make a project bigger than a scarf! It makes for a big stash because I end up buying new yarn for all my projects.

  5. nice shawl and photos really give justice to how pretty something is in person. I like the pattern and a variegated yarn like is a great choice for a shawl. Do you use shawl sticks to keep it together or just wear it and hope it doesn't fall?

  6. That's an interesting shape. And it's amazing how well the colors of the yarn distributed themselves. Your scarf is gorgeous. You chose a good color combination for this kind of pattern. The scarf looks very romantic. And I think that your tree does a well-enough job of showing it off. :-)

  7. That scarf is lovely, and I rather like the tree branch display--much more inventive than a mannequin! Beautiful colors--the pink reminds me of Pantone's color of the year.
