Hand Knit Socks in a Self-Striping Yarn

I knit these socks from some self-striping yarn. Loops and Thread brand yarn (from Michael's). The yarn is a blend of merino wool, nylon and even 10% cashmere, making them very soft. I love the colors and like how the pattern of the yarn knit out. I was able to knit one entire sock and about 2/3's of the second sock from one ball of yarn. So if I knit a really short short leg, I might be able to knit another pair of socks from what is leftover of this yarn, or I could just knit the toes and heels in another contrasting yarn color. But in the meantime I need to finish a baby blanket I am knitting. Nearly done with it.
A simple knit 2, purl 2 stitch on the leg and top of the foot.

  3. How Cool! I've always find knitting so interesting. One of my sisters knits and I love to see her results. I tried it once but didn't last long on it. Is so great that you can knit your own socks. They look very cheerful. You are very talented.

  4. Super fun socks! I can knit, but only if it's making a rectangle. Other projects have always ended up manged!

  5. I am intrigued by all the people knitting socks and the yarns that create stripes or pattterns. Your socks are fabulous and look very fun to wear. Creative Sock Bliss...

  6. great job, I love self striping socks. the colors worked out really well, you never know how well the pair will match and yours are perfect. Have fun wearing them, I think its a treat to look down at my feet and see socks I've made. The weather is now accommodating for warm socks.

  7. I'm impressed! Beautiful socks. I'm getting ready to rip out the sock I just started. Too many stitches on my needles somehow. It's my first sock,so I'm not discouraged yet.

  9. Those are the snazziest socks ever Daryl! My neighbor is a knitter and has a lot of fun with the self striping yarn too.

  10. Beautiful! Working with that yarn must have been a joy. I'm looking forward to seeing the other socks you'll make with the leftover yarn. And the baby blanket too! Have a great weekend!
