Enlarged Mini Hipster Bag in Blue Batik

This Hipster Bag was a custom order for a friend of mine. Blue was the requested color and batik or denim was the fabric desired. I showed her the 2 batik blue fabrics that I had enough fabric to make a bag and this was the winner. The lining color request was light blue, cream or yellow. I had a great yellow/cream fabric that I thought went really well, so I chose that. I made a matching Little Wallet to go with the bag too.

This is the back side of the bag.

The matching Little Wallet to go with the bag.

The Little Wallet opened.

Inside is a dived slip pocket and a zippered pocket.

I made a pen pocket on each side of the center larger pocket. A nail file can also be placed into the pen pocket.

Under the flap of the bag is a divided slip pocket, so there are 2 pockets. I added a rivet under the snap, where the stitching is that divides the pocket in half, so there is less stress on the stitching there. As you can see the flap stays in place with the magnetic snap.

The strap connector is riveted in place and I added metal strap ends too.

I wanted to photograph this bag on a few different backgrounds.

The adjustable strap allows the bag to be lengthened or shortened to the person's preferred length and to wear on shoulder or across body.

This bag is now on its way to the new owner. It sure feels good to make a bag and have someone love it and use it. Another satisfied customer!

Let me know if you want a bag made for you. You can choose the colors and the style of the bag. To see all the bags I have made in the past several years click on the tab above that says, Bag Gallery.

Mini Hipster Bag Enlarged & Matching Little Wallet

I enlarged this Hipster Bag bag and added some extra pockets and other things. I cannot really give you any info about this pattern because it was a bag I was testing for a designer that he never finished the pattern and we testers never got to actually test. Never heard back from him again. I hope he is okay.

I love the enlarged size much better than the original size I made years ago. This bag has a lot of nice features, like a flap with a magnetic snap closure and under the flap is a divided slip pocket, perfect for keys and a phone. Inside is a slip pocket divided with a pen pocket and a zippered pocket too. An adjustable strap allows you to go hands free while wearing the bag across your body or shorten to wear as a shoulder bag.

The bag measures approximately 13 1/2" wide x 7 1/2" high x 2 1/2" wide.

This bag is for sale and comes with a FREE matching Little Wallet. (See end of posting to add it to the cart.)

The batik fabric is a leaf print like a banana leaf in fall colors. (I forgot to add my handmade label, so I added it, and you can see the handmade label in photos down below).

This is the back of the bag.

The bag closes with a magnetic snap and under the flap is a divided slip pocket, perfect to hold your phone and keys.

This is the matching Little Wallet I am including with purchase of this bag.

Inside holds cards and cash in the back pocket slot can be folded in half as that it is deepest pocket.

Easy to close with a snap.

Inside is a pen pocket and a pocket to hold the Little Wallet or a small pad of paper. Across from this pocket is a zippered pocket.

Here is the label I added with rivets later and the photos above don't show it because I had forgotten to add it.

The strap connectors on the sides of the bag are riveted in place and the strap is adjustable with a slider buckle.

Mini Saddle Bag Made From Neckties

A few years ago I tested a bag for a bag pattern designer. He was designing a saddle bag that he was going to send out to the testers, but he had some things happen at that time and so all us testers said we would be here when he wanted us to test the next bag. In the meanwhile, he emailed us a mini version of the saddle bag pattern he wrote and said the new bag would be larger, but similar to this bag. I thought for fun I would use some men's neckties to make this mini version. I had it cut out and pieces the front and back pieces, but then it somehow got put away and buried in my pile of UFO's for a couple of years. When I found it recently, I decided to finish this bag and here it is. But I can't help wonder what became of the designer? I never heard from him again. I hope he is alright, but I have no idea. He never posted to his Facebook Tester group (which I belong to), so it's a mystery I suppose.

Made from men's neckties on the front, back, flap and front pocket. The black gusset and strap as well as the lining are cotton fabrics.

The front has a flap and I added a turn lock closure instead of a magnetic snap.

Back view of bag.

Mostly silk ties. I used a decorative stitch to quilt this.

The front has a nice slip pocket, great for keys or a cell phone.

Oh how embarrassing to see all that lint! I thought I had cleaned it off, but now that I see the photos, obviously I didn't do a very good job of it, lol!!! Anyhow, this is the inside with a slip pocket and a pen pocket.
