Here are a couple of Christmas wall quilts I made. They have been in a gift shop for a while now, but haven't sold 😢. Oh well, that's how it goes sometimes. If I make anything next year for the shop during Christmas time, I will either stick to snowmen theme only or Southwest theme (but not holiday). Maybe people have way too many decorations already and are just looking for gifts, not decor? It is so hard to know, so I need to make things that I can donate if they don't sell, like lap quilts and baby quilts, but not wall quilts. I am still learning, but trends do change and it's hard to know what people want in the first place 😜.

This quilt measures 1 3/4" wide x 14" high.

I used some red fabric scraps for the hat and one scrap just happened to have the word "Claus" on it.

Snowman wearing Scarf & Ear Muffs Quilt

It's been snowing here all night and we have maybe 3"-5" accumulated. Our birdbath looks like it has 5" of snow piled on it, while the top of the fence wall looks like 3" or more. The trees are being weighed down from the weight of the snow and the ground is covered! Quite an early snow here, especially when we don't even get snow every year in this part of New Mexico. There has been a Winter Storm Warning for most of the state. There is a lot more snow in Santa Fe, Taos, and Raton (near the Colorado border) has had a lot of snowfall already. Raton is expected to get an additional 3"-10" of snow today. with temperature at 25 degrees F this morning! So since I had been writing blog posts of some winter/Christmas quilts I made, I thought this might be the perfect one to share today on such a snowy day. ☃❄❅❆⛄🌨

I made this quilt and then I mounted in on an artist canvas and added a stick on thingamabob on the back for hanging it up. It is at the local gift shop for sale. 

The quilt measures 11" wide x 14" high.

O Christmas Gnomes Wall Quilt

I tested this wall quilt pattern called O Christmas Gnomes recently, which is from Around the Bobbin. I made the short version which is the same as the tall version, except on the tall version there is one more additional row of six gnomes on the bottom row. The short version has 15 total gnomes and the tall version has 21 gnomes total.

 The quilt is a cute design of gnomes standing in the shape of a Christmas tree, with the angel gnome at the top and a star above his hat, the trunk of the tree at the bottom and then there is a female gnome, a bird standing on a gnome's nose and a mustached gnome. This is such a fun and whimsical quilt to make and dress up your home for the holiday season.

Most of this quilt I made using scraps of fabric for the gnomes and the binding. The background and backing came from larger fabric cuts.
