Our Ocotillo is in Bloom

Our ocotillo is in bloom. It doesn't flower every year, so this is special.
Oh I see a little ant crawling around the flower. Hmm...I guess the ant knew how to crawl in between all those thorns to get to the flower?
Reminds me a lot of the Bottle Brush flowers we had in California.
Had to get some photos before they were gone as they don't flower every year here.
Cactus flowers are amazing.

  3. Cactus flowers are some of the most beautiful flowers! I'm in the club of never heard of this before too, but I don't know very much about cactus. It certainly has a gorgeous showy bloom! I do have some beautiful jade plants (thanks to Man) so I'm hoping to see them bloom one day.

  7. I have a fake ocotillo. LOL. My mom bought me this little pot with a name plate "ocotillo". The plant is made with green and red crystal beads. She tells me there's a real plant called ocotillo. I never looked it up but I must say the real thing is much cooler looking.
