Wool Knit Clogs

Here is the finished result after felting the slippers:
I like how they turned out. However, because I used a different yarn for the sole than the top, they felted differently. The oatmeal colored sole felted more and so at the toes and the heels I am actually walking on the teal color and not the oatmeal color on the toes and heels. So lesson learned here is to make sure that you use the same yarn type and same brand of yarn for the main shoe and the top. The trim at the top probably wouldn't matter that much though. So I will make another pair of slippers for my husband and use all the same yarn for his.
These are wool knitted clogs before they are felted. I wear a size 6 woman's shoe and these are huge right now. After they are felted I will post the after photos and the knit stitches will disappear into the felting and magically will be small enough to fit my size 6 feet (hopefully that is!). Stay tuned for the after photos...See above pictures that I added 9/22/10The pattern is from designer Bev Galeskas of Fiber Trends located in Wenatchee, Washington (Wenatchee is famous for the apples grown there on the drier side of Washington state). I lived in Olympia, WA (on the rainy side of WA) for 17 years before moving to New Mexico. See all of Bev's great knitting patterns and the yarns, etc. she sells here at Fiber Trends.

  2. Thanks Denise. I saw your pink slipper too. I haven't felted mine yet. I need to be standing by the washer to make sure they don't felt too much. I am excited to see and feel how they turn out. I have felted lots of purses, but size doesn't matter with those like it does with slippers.

  3. I have used the same brand but with two different colors... and each of the colors felted differently - I stick to one color projects now, unless size doesn't matter ;-)
