Lots of Little Wallets!

I decided I would make a Little Wallet to match any bag that I am making to sell. I also thought I would make some wallets using up some scraps as well so that I will be stocked up on these when we can have craft shows again. It will be something I can offer to sell that is not as much as a bag so it can be an affordable gift to buy. Here are 17 of them that I finished making recently.

These wallets measure when closed about 3 1/2" x 5".

Here are 7 wallets closed.

And what they look like opened.

Another 7 wallets closed. Isn't that watermelon one cute? I only had a small scrap of those 2 fabrics and it was enough to make the wallet.

And here they are opened.

2 more here. The one on the left was made with 3 pink batik fabrics pieced together.

And opened you sometimes get a little surprise like the llama fabric inside.

Wanted to show the back of the one on the left, since the fabric was pieced using 3 fabrics in pink.

This cute little kitty wallet was a custom made wallet that I sold

The back had to be pieced with a strip of fabric in order to make the directional fabric work so that the flap or the back wasn't upside down. This fabric is cute and had other garden signs like "Purrenial Seeds" as well as this one that is Purrfect Seeds.
I sold most of these Little Wallets.

Laminated Card Wallets

I had been wanting to try laminating fabric and I read about Heat and Bond and Pellon iron on vinyl products and what others had to say about them and decided on the Pellon brand. Pellon according to some reviewers wrinkles less than Heat and Bond does when you turn the project right side out. Well for my first project to try, I wanted something easy and quick and no turning involved, so I made a couple of card wallets.

This first wallet I made, I laminated the fabric on the outside and the lining side too. It worked okay, but when placing my cards into the wallet I found I could only place 3 cards on each side or the cards stuck to the laminated plastic and would be too hard to remove or add more. So first lesson learned.

My next attempt was to only laminate the exterior fabric and keep the lining as just cotton fabric. This worked better and allowed me to add a few more cards inside without anything sticking.

The process of ironing the vinyl onto to fabric was easy to do. It was easy to sew as well. I will make other items as needed using the iron on vinyl. Since I prefer sewing with fabric, the laminated fabric can come in handy for a variety of projects. There are some free patterns for other wallets online using cork or leather, but I could make them with laminated fabric instead. Why not? I already have what I need and simple wallets can use up all those tons of fabric scraps accumulating in my scrap bags!

The first wallet I showed will be included in a zippered pouch I made as a custom order. She asked for me to include some of my cards in the bag, so I thought it would be great if she had a little wallet to keep the cards in.

My 6-Year Blog Anniversary Winners are...

Before I announce the winners of my giveaway, I would like to thank all of you who follow my blog. I really appreciate it.

When I announced my giveaway, I asked if you wanted a handmade wallet with a choice of 3 colors (blue, brown or green) or a pdf pattern from my Craftsy Store. It was interesting to see that the brown wallet was the most popular of all, not just of the wallets, but even over the pdf pattern too. The blue wallet came in second in wallet color popularity, while the green wallet wasn't that popular. Was it the green color or print that wasn't liked? Or that most of you just prefer a neutral color in wallets? If you would like to purchase the green wallet, it's now for sale in my Zibbet Store.

I wasn't going to make the wallets until after I chose the 2 winners, after all maybe the winners that were chosen might have wanted a pdf pattern instead of a wallet. But I decided to make the wallets in advance after all. So here are the photos of the wallets that I made, as well as a wallet that I made for a friend as well.
Here are 2 wallets. The one on the left I made for a friend and the one on the right was the green wallet that is now for sale in my Zibbet Store.  I couldn't resist taking a photo in front of these daffodils!
The 2 most popular wallets colors were the brown and the blue wallets here.

Okay and now for the winners. I used this random number generator to choose the winners. I like using this one because it's like going to a casino, lol.
The 2 winners are: lucky # 11: Tara won the brown wallet, and lucky # 46: Sherry won the blue wallet. Congratulations ladies. I have already emailed you both. I am so happy that the winners didn't want the same wallet. So it really worked out great! Enjoy your wallets.
