Happy 10 Years Blogging to Me!

March 22, 2008 is when I posted my very first blog posting. Ten years later I am still blogging. Several other blogs I have followed have come and gone. Some switched to Facebook, Instagram, or other social media because it is faster and they don't have to write a lot, just post their creations; but blogging is where I can not only post photos of quilts and bags and other things I have made, but also can write about it. I can tell you the pluses and minuses of the patterns I have tested, or the changes that I personally made to the item. I can share tips with you that I have discovered myself or picked up from someone else. And so much more.

Blogging to me is more personal than other social media and I like that. I have come to know a lot of you through your comments, or questions. I have helped some of you when you asked how I did something in particular, or asked for advise. I am happy to share my knowledge and help out when I can. I have been sewing since I was a child, so I have a lot of experience, but I am always learning new techniques and tricks along the way too. I never stop learning.

One of my blog followers (from Canada) and friend (though we have never met in person, so she's a cyber friend, lol) even remembered my 10 year blog anniversary well before this posting and sent me a Groupon voucher for some Rum Ball Cake Pops from Sweet Suga Mama's. How sweet and kind was that? I suppose I can toast (with the rum part) and eat the cake all at the same time. Was that the idea Rochelle? Thank you so much Rochelle for remembering my blog anniversary and for your friendship and following me on this blog adventure of mine. I was certainly surprised by your sweet gift, but value your friendship even more. (As of this writing they have not arrived yet, so I will let you know when they do arrive).

I want to thank all of you friends and followers (old and new) for following me and supporting me on this blog adventure of mine and I hope I can continue blogging for another 10 years! Cheers! Grab a rum cake ball and enjoy!!!

Happy 9 Year Blog Anniversary to Me!

As they say time flies and holy cow it's been exactly 9 years ago today that I began this journey sharing my creations through this blog of mine. I learned a lot about writing, photography and creating and I am still learning. My goal was to document what I created, since a lot of what I do was given away as gifts and some things later I sold or gave away to charities or thrift shops. All those years before this blog I had taken some photographs, but then that was before I owned a digital camera and before digital cameras had even been invented!

I have had followers come and go over the years, but I have also made a lot of blog friends and enjoy so much having a little chat now and then through email. A lot of bloggers I had followed left blogging for Facebook and Instagram, etc. and I understand that is much faster way of showing their creations and communicating, but I still find it less personal. If you have a bazillion friends on Facebook, you cannot have enough time to keep up with it all either. I only browse on there once in a while. I too have slowed down with visiting blogs I follow. I still might take a peek, but don't always take the time to comment. I know how valuable time is and trying to keep up with everything is impossible. I do need and want time to create after all. :0)

I want to say thank you to everyone who continues to follow my little blog and thank you to anyone who has been a follower in the past (there must have been something here you liked to give following a try), and thank you to my new followers and thank you to those of you who pop in just to take a peek at my blog too. Thank you to those lurkers out there as well, lol!!! I know a lot of you do not follow in any official way and just pop in from time-to-time to see what's new.

I hope I can continue this blog for a few more years. As long as I can still create I would like this blog to continue. It takes time here to post as well as time to create and photograph what I create and as long as I am able to do all that I would like to keep this little old blog going. Thanks for all the lovely comments and encouragement these past 9 years. Cheers! And please have a slice of virtual cake on me! It's fat-free, calorie-free, sugar-free, guilt-free, so go right ahead and indulge!

Happy 8-Year Blog Anniversary to Me!!!

Hello friends. I can't believe that today is my 8th year blogging here. I have met so many wonderful people through blogging from all over the world. I enjoy writing my posts for you to read and see what I have been creating, but I also love to look at so many other blogs that I follow too. I know I have been inspired by so many of you and I hope that you have found some inspiration here on my blog from me. I feel like I belong to a virtual quilting guild, knitting guild, and bag making guild, etc.

My very first post was showing a handbag I made from some fabric that I hand dyed.
I hand dyed this fabric and then made the Essential Diva Handbag using this fabric.

I sometimes amaze myself at all the things I have created in the past 8 years! But there has been so much more that I created before I blogged and even more before I took photos of my work. Way before there were digital cameras and the internet and computers. I guess I am a bit of a dinosaur, lol!!!

I love to share what I have created here with you. I hope that my blogging has inspired you to try something new. I know that I am inspired every day by my blogging friends and I feel blessed to be a part of such a wonderful creative bunch of people from around the world. I want to thank all my followers for sharing this blog adventure with me.

It's My 6-Year Blog Anniversary GiveAway

I can't believe I have been blogging now for 6 years!!! In that time I have made some wonderful blogging friends from around the globe. I have shared my love of creating and found inspiration from so many other bloggers like YOU, and I hope that you might have learned a thing or two from me or at least have been inspired by what I have shared with you. I want thank all of you wonderful people out there who follow me, on GFC, Bloglovin, by email, Feedly, etc......and even all you lurkers out there who just peek and never make comments (you know who you are, lol!!!), thank you!!! Without you following me and making comments I would just be here blabbing on and on to myself, lol!!! It's nice to know there are a few people who have found me and cared enough to stay and follow me. I am still learning from you and I am inspired by you and I hope we can continue on this blogging journey for many more years to come. To say thank you to all my long time followers as well as you brand new followers and yes even to you lurkers too, lol, I am having a giveaway.

From now until midnight March 22nd, Mountain Time, (my blog anniversary date) you can make one comment to be entered into the giveaway drawing. I will choose the winners (I will choose 2 winners) whenever I get up on Sunday morning, lol.

What am I giving away you ask? I will make you a beautiful handmade wallet in one of the following color combinations: a) blues; b) browns; c) greens OR you can choose one of my pdf patterns from my Craftsy Pattern Store. If you want to be included in the giveaway you must tell me if you prefer the handmade wallet or a pdf pattern from my store. (Click on my Craftsy patterns on the sidebar to see my patterns). If you would like the wallet then please choose either A, B or C color combination OR tell me which pdf pattern you would like to win. If you don't tell me in your comment which you would like to win then I will assume that you don't want to be in the drawing for the giveaway. Also and this is important: if you are a no-reply then you cannot win, since I won't be able to contact you. So if in doubt, leave me your email address in your comment. So many of you make comments and I cannot respond to you because you are no-reply. I know some of you do not have blogger (maybe you have Type Pad or Word Press, etc. or if you have Google Plus (which makes you a no-reply unless you double check your setting and check it often too). I do not take anonymous comments because of so much SPAM. If you do not have any account and would like to enter my giveaway then please use the comment form on the right side bar of my blog and tell me which you prefer to win if you are chosen. Don't forget to include the color of the wallet if you choose the wallet. I will get started making the wallet(s) as soon as I have chosen a winner who has specified either a, b, or c. If 2 people choose the same color, then the lucky person I choose first will get that color, so you can leave me choice number 2 if you'd like.  Even though I will email the winners, I know some people don't look at their emails daily, and I would like to get started on making the wallet (or wallets) as soon as possible and not have to wait to email back and forth...and aren't you glad because that means you will receive your wallet faster too. :0) Okay enough blabbing from me, now I would love to hear from you!
