Charm Squares Table Topper

Back in September, I made this patchwork quilted table topper or runner, using a partial charm pack that I got from a de-stash sale several years ago. I loved the prints in the charm pack, but had no idea what to do with them, since it wasn't a full package and I wanted these prints to stand out and not get lost adding other fabrics to them. So I made this and quilted it. It doesn't really fit on any table in my house, so I may see how it looks on the top of my dresser, if it fits there at all? I will have to see.

Topper measures  18" x 27".

I did some simple wavy line quilting across the topper.

The prints in some of these fabric looks like stamping with ink or paint. Like the orange one above remind me of a potato masher with the gridded lines. I don't know the name of this fabric line or what fabric company made it or even how old the fabric is.

Table Runner: Orange Flowers with Blue Orange Peel

Hello Sunshine! I had cut out blocks to make this table runner a couple of years ago. The plan was to have this to work on at my appliqué group. Then of course Covid put a stop to us meeting. We haven't met together for over 2 years now. I finished this runner in January, so it has taken me a while to even share this with you.

I took the appliqué flowers from a quilt pattern I had (don't ask me what pattern because I don't know what I did with it) and I added some Orange Peel blocks in between the flowers. Ironic that the orange peel blocks are in blue, lol!

That orange and yellow flower fabric came from my mom's quilt shop from the mid 1970's. My sister gave me that fabric just a few years ago after mom passed away. I had the same fabric in a blue colorway. I guess mom must have given us each some fabrics from her shop after she closed it. My sister never made quilts, but did sew clothing.

Not having a table to take photos on makes photographing things like this rather challenging. We have a small round table, 50's style with a red top, so I have to try different photo angles outside. I think you get the idea.

Christmas Table Runner

I asked my sister if there was anything that she wanted this holiday season and she said she wanted some holiday table runners. She wanted Christmas the most, so I made her a table runner for Christmas that I designed and made up myself. I used all scraps (except I did have about 3/4 yard of the Christmas Tree fabric). I personalized it for her family too. I mailed this off to her the day before Thanksgiving and said to open it now so she could use it. She told me she loved it. Now I will be making other holiday table runners for her for throughout the year.
I wrote their names on the ornaments, but placed some purposely upside down so that if you sit on one side of the table you can read 2 names.
This way you can read 3 names.
I wasn't sure about writing on the rickrack, so I tried a test piece first, and it worked fine, even though a bit bumpy to write.

When making this I wasn't sure if I would have enough of the red fabric (that I paired with the Christmas Tree fabric) for the half-square triangles, so I made some triangles with other red scraps I had. But it turned out I had plenty of the red, so I turned those extra triangles into pinwheels and decided to use those on the back. I also wanted to use up the rest of the tree fabric too. So I sewed some fabric strips here and there to make it large enough and created this backing for the runner.
