For the Boys Blog Hop~Lil' Monster Pencil Cases & PJ's

I knew just what I wanted to make for this blog hop. Since my grandson started going to school (kindergarten) this past August, I thought a pencil case would be perfect for him. Plus his birthday is in November and I thought these would make great little party favors for his birthday party too. (His birthday was the 1st and my birthday is November 13, which is today for most of you reading this). These were fun and easy to make. This is a free online pattern from Moda, so if you want to make a Lil' Monster for your
Lil' Monster go here.
Cute Lil Monster Pencil Cases. Their mouths are closed so mums the word.
Don't their personalities change with their little zipper mouths open? Lol!!!
He looks like he is talking to you.
Don't you love the hair?
A green pencil in his mouth. My grandson loves green so this is the one I made for him.
Yum, yum. 2 pencils.
Flannel Ninja PJ's I made for my grandson.

With some leftover flannel I appliqued some Ninja's onto a large tee-shirt.
I fused the appliques cut from the flannel fabric and then stitched them onto a large tee-shirt. This shirt is way too large but my grandson likes the large ones to sleep in.
Here is an appliqued Ninja. I drew the other half of the nunchucks with a fabric pen and drew in the chain part too.
Thanks to Madame Samm and Amy for organizing this fun blog hop!

Evelyn Bag too

I made this Evelyn bag for my friend Tara for her birthday before I had made my blue batik Evelyn bag, but I couldn't post it until I gave it to her. I also made Tara a few other little goodies that I put inside her bag too.
Tara loves Asian fabrics and other Asian things too, so I chose an Asian fabric that I have had for sometime. I didn't have enough of the fabric for the handles, so I chose an accent fabric that worked really well with the main fabric.
Back of bag with zipper.
A peek inside the bag.
I made this little coin purse too. It has a snap on the back.
I made this wallet too.
Different Asian fabrics were used for the wallet.
The cash pocket.
Credit card pockets and the cash pocket inside.

Kennedy Bag

When I saw this free bag pattern online from Sara of Sew Sweetness, I knew I wanted to make the Kennedy Bag. I also knew I would making some changes to the pattern. Most of the changes I made was because I didn't care for a few of the design elements of the bag, so I added or subtracted a few things. Here is my version of the Kennedy bag:
I made this bag using 7 different black & white fabrics for the exterior.
I made one buckle accent down the center of the bag instead of the 2 buckles that was on the pattern. At first I was going to just sew the accent down the center and not add the buckle at all, but then I decided I liked the one buckle.
On the back of the bag I added a zippered pocket. The pattern has no pocket on the back of the bag at all..
I didn't use swivel hooks to attach the handle. I only used D-rings.
I did add one swivel hook on the side of the bag to hold my keys. I also didn't add any buckles on the side of the bag. I did sew an accent strip on but no buckle.
Here is how my keys clip onto the swivel hook.
I added a zipper pull that I made with beads, a charm and a small key ring.
I used a pink and white striped fabric with ladybugs for the lining fabric. I also made another zipper pull for the inside zipper pocket. As you can see I can fit a lot inside this bag. Lol!
